A purpose built sump is recommended for fixed installations (minimum dimensions 500 x 500 x 500 mm) to provide total drainage and allow correct operation of the float switch. The adjustable float switch is supplied as standard on single phase models and automatically starts the pump when the fluid reaches a preset level, stopping it once the fluid has been emptied. Installing a suitable non- return valve on the delivery pipe prevents reverse flow when the pump stops.
